Well not really. The KWP Punters Club, for the uninitiated, is the activation arm of the agency. They’re responsible for pretty much every great thing to come out of the agency. And if they aren’t directly involved they’ll claim it anyway.
Every year, the KWPPC generously puts on a complimentary lunch, bottomless drinks, punting and loads of great fun on Cup Day. Quite simply it’s the best day ever in the KWP! calendar.
This year they had 64 shareholders and over $1300 in the kitty. Although the Punters Club had a nice little winnerearly on, the famous Flemington Quadrella eluded them on the day. Most of the money was bet around the Cup and we were ‘oh so close’ on a number of bets. A KWPPC Spokesperson would like to remind everybody that, “this is gambling, not investing.”
Tristan Glover, KWPPC’s Commander In Chief, commented, “I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all our shareholders, and look forward to their support next year.”
Agency snipers were heard firing around comments like “This is a Ponzi scheme” and “I bet they didn’t even put the bets on and kept the money”, resulting in a couple of ejections on the day with the KWPPC defending its position and promising absolute transparency and integrity to anyone who asks.
The day also crowned Ben ‘Lambs’ Spry the winner of the inaugural KWPPC Giant Connect 4 challenge. A hotly contested tournament, Ben disposed of Simon Davis in front of a raucous crowd in the boardroom.
